I’m going to comment on a Slam Dunk moment in sports, in regards to my 10 yr. old daughter. My daughter plays tennis and was chosen last year for an all expense paid trip to San Diego, Ca. to the Jr. Olympics. She made it to the nationals there and won the Gold!
The next Serena Williams is coming!
Thx!

My sophomore year in college when I first had flowers for Valentine’s Day delivered to me. Totally unexpected and from a guy I had recently started dating. I lived in a sorority house and the year before watched dozens and dozens of flowers being delivered to the other girls. So it was a thrill to get some too the following year!
Sports moment – surprising my husband when we were dating with tickets to a Chicago Bulls game at the United Center at Christmas. He had flown over from Australia and being a huge Bulls fan was thrilled. His first time to Chichago!
If I had to pick the best sports moment I would have to say that it was when my now 15 year old daughter played on her middle school volleyball team the first year and they were up against their biggest rival at their final game of the season. MY BABY spiked the ball over the net that made the winning point!! I cried like a fool and was so very proud. I know lame but I am not a big sports lover
I think my most memorable sports moment was when I was a senior in HS our volleyball team went undefeated and were division champions. Then I became a Varsity Volleyball coach later in life and was named coach of the year 2 years in a row. What an honor.
Memorable sport moment? i wasn’t THERE, but it was amazing watching the summer olympics in China on TV and seeing Shawn Johnson do SO well in the gymnastics. I loved watching it and can’t believe how well she did for her age.
I don’t know if you entered the Holey Donuts giveaway or not, but if you could check out this post and do so for my blog, it would mean a TON for my family and you can enter for the book afterwards too if you wish (White Cat by Holly Black ARC)!:

My most rememberable sports moment was when I went to my first boxing match with my dad. We both just had a ball. and it was some great father, daughter bonding
Since I never really played organized team sports in high school or college, I hope this still counts . . . but, to date, watching the Saints win the Super Bowl this past Sunday was pretty memorable not only because my hubby’s from New Orleans and LOVES that Saints but also because of what it means to that city!
At first I thought I didn’t have any memorable valentine’s days because it seems I was always without someone when it rolls around but then I was taken back Valentine’s Day 1989. It was my freshman year at University of Houston. All day girls had been getting candy and flowers but me and a few of my other girlfriends. We all decided that we would go and watch “School Daze” in the Houston Room. Halfway through the movie, I felt someone lay their hand on my shoulder. When I turned around it was my friend, Edwards with a box a candy and a teddy bear in his hand! He explained to me that he had been interested in me since 7th grade but didn’t know how to say it then and was struggling to say it at that moment! Wow, that blew me away! I still have the teddy bear. We dated on and off for some years and even spoke about marriage, but it didn’t work out. I wonder where he is now? hummmm. Thanks for letting me share that. It brings a smile to my face as a face another lonely valentine’s day- I think I’ll clean my room on that day to show myself some love
senior year in high school, our tennis team had our final match with the best & toughest team. for some giggles, we decided to pit their best player against our worst, me. the match took three hours, the final score was 6-7, 6-7. i lost, but that win had to really be earned…
Most memorable sports moment had to be when
I wrapped an espn shoot and managed to get
all of the ATL Braves starting pitchers to
sign my national league ball. *swoon*
This past Christmas break, my middle daughter, and her Jr. High basket ball team were in a tournament. Making it to the final game, they found themselves fighting to come back from behind. Managing to tie the game, and just a few seconds left, middle daughter stole the ball. She made a fast break… a lay up… and they won the game, and the tournament! That’s a Slam Dunk!
Back in 1995, I lived in Cleveland. They had a radio contest the week leading up to Opening Day at (then) Jacobs Field for the Cleveland Indians. You had to call in or fax something every day to try to be selected for the finals on that Friday. I was selected with 4 other people to compete for the chance to throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Opening Day. We were given 30 seconds to convince the host why we should be the one to win. To complicate matters, I was scheduled to coach a youth basketball tournament that same day. As we drove to the tournament and with radio reception cutting in and out, we heard them call my name! My father-in-law coached for me so I could return to Cleveland.
A jumped out of a parachute to deliver the ball to me as I stood there on the mound on OPENING DAY! It was awesome. The year before, then President Bill Clinton threw out the pitch. I have a picture of it here – http://aaronconrad.com/bucket-list/. I’ll never forget it. As a lifelong Indians fan, I am not sure anything will ever come close to that moment. It snowed the morning of the game so it was delayed and the crowd was sparse to start the game. Great day. Great memory!
Most memorable sports moment would have to be Reggie Miller’s last game. As a life long Lakers fan newly living in indianapolis I had a strong dislike for Miller bordering on hatred. He was a whiny baby that never won when it mattered. Well at that game with time running down and the Pacers chances of beating Detriot and keeping their season alive ticking down we all realized this was it for Reg. Carlisle called time out to take out Reggie and the crowd stood up in appreciation for what he meant to that city. Artest burst into tears and hugged him, as did Ben Wallace, and damned if it didn’t get dusty in that arena. I was fighting back tears myself because I love basketball and Reggie Miller was a fine basketball player that meant the world to that city.
My best moment was when my husband sent flowers to me at work. Unexpected, especially when I didn’t even get flowers at home!
My husband (boyfriend at the time) does not believe in Valentine’s Day. Five years into our co-habitation, I received a knock at the door. It is the FTD man with flowers & chocolates & cookies (he is a softy deep inside…)
My most memorial sports moment was when I was still competing in martial arts and finished fourth in the World Championships in forms and weapons. I quit competing a couple years ago, but still remember that feeling of going up against the best in the world and finishing the year at that level.
My most memorable Valentine’s moment is when my husband gave me a gorgeous heart bracelet that I still wear.

One Valentine’s Day, I decided to create something straight from my heart instead of making a purchase. I sat down to write a love poem for my love at that time….the poem ended up being 3 pages long and was truly a labor of love. I only hope he enjoyed reading it as much as I did writing it!
my most memorable valentine’s day was the one I found out I was expecting our first child! Don’t think any sports moment I’ve ever had could top that one!
My most memorable valentines day is today! A nice quiet day at home with my man. We have both been traveling in the snow back and forth to work all week long. And we are tuckered out. And right now? No running off to fight the crowds. We are ordering Pizza Hut in. LOL… You can tell we have done the v-day hype for many years and just enjoy each others company.
The most memorable Vday was flowers delivered at work; engagement party before going to a 5 course dinner at a fabulous jazz restaurant in the city.
My most memorable valentines day was 5 years ago when my husband surprised me with a ruby necklace. We usually just exchange cards, so it was a complete surprise to me to get a present, especailly such a nice one.
