Today is my birthday and since birthdays are a good time to reflect on your life, I thought that I would respond to challenge from my friend, Teendoc, who blogs at Welcome to the Dollhouse. Her challenge was to describe my entire life in a single paragraph of 100 words. No more than 100 and no less than 100. It must be exactly 100 words. Here is my life:
Born in Houston. Parents divorced. Attended two elementaries (protesters didn’t want black kids bussed in at second), two middle schools, one high school. Excelled academically. Declined full scholarship to UT, attended Howard instead. Loved D.C. Struggled to pay for college. Changed majors. Met my soul mate, K. Evicted from apartment. Graduation. Long distance romance through several states: Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia, Georgia. Proposed on dinner cruise and vomited. Married in St. Louis. Hawaiian honeymoon. Moved to Florida then Texas. Bought first house. Photographer. Had kids: Nee, N, X. Overseas travel: UK, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, Iraq, UAE. Bought second house. Adopted Ginger.
Stay Strong,
Mocha Dad
