An Open Letter to the Dallas Cowboys

tony_romo_dallas_cowboys1Dear Dallas Cowboys,

It’s over. We have been together for over 30 years now, but I just can’t take it anymore. I suffered through your 1-15 season and we drew closer because this rough patch made you grow stronger. When you defeated the Washington Redskins that season, I knew that hope existed for us. The past few years have been rough though. It seems as if you always let me down around the holidays when I need you the most. Your performance against the Philadelphia Eagles was simply embarrassing. I don’t know if I can endure this type of treatment anymore. Besides, those Houston Texans have been trying to win my affection. Maybe it’s time I gave them a chance. I could go on an on about my disappointment, but my fellow blogger at Views from the Farmstead has summed up all of my feelings in her post “Dear Jerry.”

Stay Strong,
Mocha Dad

See, that’s what happens when you put your football eggs (okay, that’s a strange analogy, but whatever) in one basket.

I have always been an Eagles fan, even after moving back to Texas. No wonder. The (Houston) Texans don’t give you much to root for—and what’s up with that big a** hole in the roof of Reliant? Will it ever get fixed or is Reliant Stadium permanently open-air.

I digress.

Mocha Dad,

Don’t know how you found my blog, but am I glad you stopped by?

Yeah, I am.

As a texpatriate, share your deep disappointment in Da Boys. Tony, Tony – what are you doing to me, hon?

Oh, and btw, has anyone told you that you bear a striking resemblance to Cuba? Nom nom nom nom nom.

You’re in my Google reader…basically I’m stalking you now.

I’m glad you found my blog too. The Cowboys will have to make some significant changes in the offseason if they want to be competitive again? And yes, one other person has said that I look like Cuba. I don’t see it , though.

I’m thinking about breaking up with the Bucs for similar reasons. I’m definitely not renewing my season tickets next year, no way!

Do the Bucs need a quarterback? Romo would make a good choice.

Thanks for the ping but don’t give up on Da Boys just yet….there is always hope. I live in Redskins territory and if I can keep hope surely you can’t stray to the Texans. :) It’s scary that we are now courting Shanahan and he and Jerry have a fond affection for Romo, I don’t think Romo may be with us for awhile…unfortunately. :(

After the Bucs destoryed all my dreams by laying down at the end of the season I am going to root for the Ravens, but I think it will end up being the Titans and The Giants. They were the only two teams that were solid all year long.

I say the Titans take it in a close, low scoring game.

They ALWAYS need a quarterback. I’d take Romo, if you’re getting rid of him. Like it’s up to us…

Dallas has a football team?

Dallas has had great football teams at different points in time. I heard that they cut Pacman Jones. Good move! Maybe T.O. will be next.

This gives me an idea of what to say to the Mets…
